Multicultural Fire Department Entrance Examination Announcement
We are pleased to announce that the next entrance examination for the Plano Fire Department will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 and we anticipate filling approximately ten (10) positions from that exam. If you know of anyone that is interested in testing for a postition with the Plano Fire Department, please feel free to provide them with copy of the official Civil Service test announcement (attached) which has been posted by Civil Service Director Darlene McAndrew. is currently recruiting Polish Language teachers, paid position, school year 2006/2007 for the following classes: Pre-school (age 4 to 6), First class (age 7 to 9), Second Class (age 10 to 14) and Adult class. School will start in September 2006, classes will be held twice a month on Saturdays. Teaching or equivalent degree and experience preferred.

1. Meet 2-3 hours per day for 5 days a week during the daytime.

2. Meet for about 1 month because she is leaving in early May. She would like to take about 60 hours of language training.

3. Meet at her office in Las Colinas in Irving. She must meet at her office.

4. Be at the level described below.

She is willing to do homework and study.Can follow the general meaning of a conversation about familiar subjects. Can initiate, sustain, and close a conversation, covering a range of circumstances and topics, albeit with some errors. Can participate in guided discussions"e.g., can give professional instructions, explain a simple problem and give a solution, take visitors around their premises, offices or factories, or report on the status of a project. Can extend and politely reply to invitations, offer congratulations, and express preferences, agreement or disagreement or make complaints.


5. Pay is $25 an hour + 25 cents to the mile for driving. We can provide materials or you are welcome to use some of yours
